Bayern Munich chief exec Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says his greatest mistake was hiring Jurgen Klinsmann as coach.
Klinsmann took over at FCB in the summer of 2008 and was released again at the end of April 2009.
Rummenigge recalled to Tz: "Unfortunately, Jürgen Klinsmann and FC Bayern just didn't really fit together in our club culture and philosophy.
"He wasn't a trainer in the sense of a coach, he was more of a project manager. He brought his own assistant coach with him, unfortunately that was his big problem.
"We should have had a top German coach at his side at the time."
