Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge can't guarantee keeping hold of Niklas Sule this summer.
Off contract in 2022, Sule is being linked with Chelsea and Manchester United in both Germany and England.
The Germany international is now inside the final eighteen months of his current deal and as Rummenigge intimates, talks over a new agreement are yet to commence.
It could lead to Bayern being prepared to sell if they can get the right price from another club - just as they did with Thiago Alcantara and Liverpool last year.
Standing 6ft 4in, Sule is known for his rapid leg speed over the turf and is only behind behind Canadian wing-back Alphonso Davies as the fastest player at the club.
Rummenigge says they're happy with Sule, though securing him to a new deal is no guarantee.
He told Aktuellen Sportstudio via Fussball Transfers: “Basically he is a German national player. And the philosophy of our club is that we want the good German national players at FC Bayern.
"He now has one more year contract in the summer and then discussions are held. And then we will see what result they lead to.
“We'll look at the whole thing seriously and calmly until summer. Then we will have to make decisions. FC Bayern no longer has the financial resources available.
"If we find a solution, we are generally happy to extend the contract. But that will only be possible under certain conditions."
So far this season, Sule has made 25 appearances for Bayern, scoring twice.
