Manchester United are facing stern competition for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

The talented youngster has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with the Premier League club set to appoint Ajax boss Erik ten Hag as their new manager.

According to Calcio Mercato, Bayern are also interested in the 20-year-old.

Ten Hag is expected to make massive changes to the United squad this summer.

Timber is part of the second wave of youth players brought through Ajax by ten Hag.

The Netherlands international has made 37 appearances for Ajax in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
