Thomas Muller says he and Louis van Gaal have an extremely healthy relationship amidst rumours of a potential move to Manchester United.

The 25-year old Bayern Munich star played under the Dutch tactician with the Bundesliga giants between 2009 and 2011 and has revealed that the pair have a very strong connection, sparking suggestions of a possible future shift to Old Trafford.

"It's a secret for nobody," Muller told The Independent.

"Louis van Gaal and I have a relationship that goes beyond that which is normal between a player and a coach.

"However, I have a contract with Bayern until 2017."

Germany international Muller won the Bundesliga title, German Cup and German Super Cup under van Gaal during the 2009/10 season.
