Landon Donovan and a permanent stay at Bayern Munich is now looking even less likely. Donovan has been with Bayern since December in a loan deal similar to the one for David Beckham with AC Milan. With LA Galaxy owners AEG saying last week that Beckham and Donovan would be returning in March, Bayern Munich have now indicated that even if Donovan were available they would not seek to keep the USMNT striker.
"Donovan is an interesting player,'' Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the Munich newspaper TZ. "But when you have Klose, Toni and Olic already under contract, we think the fourth player (striker) should really be a young player with perspective.''
