Bayer Leverkusen are moving for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips.

Phillips has been made available by Liverpool this summer and a return to Germany could be on.

The former VfB Stuttgart loanee is now wanted by Bayer, reports Sky Deutschland.

Contact has been established with Liverpool as Bayer face a major defensive crisis: Sven Bender has retired, Aleksandar Dragovic is already gone, Tin Jedvaj is as good as gone and Edmond Tapsoba is out of action for several weeks.

Phillips is now emerging as a major target and Bayer are eager to close business quickly.
