Bayer Leverkusen expect Stoke to take up Wollscheid permanent option

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is ready to sign permanently Philipp Wollscheid.

Hughes will make Wollscheid a permanent signing for £2.75m, according to reports in Germany.

Bayer Leverkusen assistant sports director Jonas Boldt told Express: "We will wait and see but it looks as though Stoke will take up the option (to sign him permanently)."

Wollscheid joined Leverkusen for £5m in 2012 and played 51 times in the league and four times in the Champions League before slipping down the pecking order.
