Bayer Leverkusen dismiss Tottenham striker Soldado rumours

Bayer Leverkusen's managing director Michael Schade denies they're interested in Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado.

The Spaniard, who has scored just once in 14 Premier League starts this season, had been the subject of reports Spurs were lining up a swap deal that would see Josip Drmic move to White Hart Lane.

Schade has moved quickly to quell the speculation, which surfaced on Tuesday, telling Sky Deutschland's Laura Lutz that they are intent on keeping hold of Drmic in the January window while rubbishing talk of a move for Soldado.

"We talked to the managing director of Bayer Leverkusen and he says he doesn't want his club to be linked with this player," Lutz told Sky Sports News HQ.

"They want to keep striker Josip Drmic, so if they keep him they won't need Soldado. In Germany we think this move isn't going to happen."
