Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz has played down Kai Havertz's absence on Saturday.
The 20-year-old was notable by his absence on Saturday afternoon as Bayern Munich ran out 4-2 winners at the BayArena.
With Manchester City keen, Havertz's absence came amid reports that Real Madrid had tabled a £71m bid for the highly-rated playmaker, though Bosz insists that he is struggling with a knee issue picked up during his last outing.
“He was injured on his knee against Freiburg," he told Archie Rhind-Tutt of Fox Soccer. "He tried to train with us this week but it was too early.
"I don't think it will be taking weeks but today came too soon."
