Bayer Leverkusen sports chief Simon Rolfes has declared Kai Havertz's departure is expected.

Last week, the midfielder declared he was "ready for the next step" as the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid circle.

For Rolfes, he accepts the situation, telling Sportbuzzer: "It is normal that a player in his class will eventually leave us to play for a very big club.

"Kai answered only one question.

"I am very relaxed about this because we are in constant contact with him."
