Fiorentina legend Gabriel Batistuta has weighed into Mauro Icardi's row with Inter Milan management.
Batistuta says such a stand-off would never have happened in his day.
Discussing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, Batistuta told TMW: "Lautaro is a great player. He is adapting to Italian football. We knew each other in Argentina for a couple of years, I had guaranteed him to (Luciano) Spalletti, warning him, however, that it would take him a little time to fit in.
"I think Lautaro can give a lot to Inter and Italian football.
"Icardi? I imagine there are problems in the locker room. Until they are solved it will be difficult for him to get back on track. The problems in the locker room should remain in the locker room, this shouldn't happen.
"It would never have happened (in my day). My job was my job, my wife thought of her things. Irina never knew anything about what was happening in the locker room. I always conceived football like this and relationship with my teammates."
