FC Basle have warned Arsenal off young defender Eray Comert.

The Daily Mail says Arsenal are among the clubs most closely monitoring Comert's progress and representatives of the north London club met with his agents in Switzerland at the weekend.

Atletico Madrid and Everton also scouted him last season.

Basle want him around for an important Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven at the end of July.

The success of their European campaign could determine his future.
