Basel great Chipperfield inducted into Australian Hall of Fame

Scott Chipperfield has been inducted into Football Federation Australia's (FFA) Hall of Fame.

The 36-year old former FC Basel star and Socceroos winger was joined by former Westfield Matilda Alison Forman and long-serving football administrator Alan Vessey as the newest inductees.

"Scott, Alison and Alan have contributed significantly to our sport over long and distinguished careers and I commend them all for their achievements," said FFA chief David Gallop.

"Their stories are part of the game's rich history in Australia and I'm delighted that they now have the formal recognition by the Hall of Fame."

Chipperfield, who is currently with lower league club FC Aesch,has had a storied career in Switzerland with Basel, making around 300 appearances and winning seven Swiss championships and six Swiss Cups.

He also played 68 times for Australia including the 2006 and 2010 World Cups in Germany and South Africa.
