Crystal Palace are ready to buy outright on-loan Mainz striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Mateta's sudden burst of form has impressed Palace manager Patrick Vieira, who has recommended his permanent signing.
The current deal includes a €15m option, though Palace aim to re-negotiate that down to €10m.
Fussball Transfers says Palace also could have an alterior motive in signing Mateta.
FC Basel are seeking a replacement for Arthur Cabral, who is about to join Fiorentina, and Palace could sell Mateta to the Swiss for a quick profit next week.
