Bristol Rovers manager Joe Barton admits he is using his experiences at Newcastle to help the club in their current situation.
Barton has often spoke about his frustration at how he was relegated with Newcastle in 2008-2009.
He also went down with QPR in 2015, and does not want that to happen to Bristol this term.
"Horrible," he told the Bristol Post about previous relegations in his career.
"They haunt me to this day. Every single one of them, I was unfortunate to be relegated with Newcastle. Hated it. Hated the feeling of it.
"Hate it, still on my CV and it's there forever I can't get rid of that. It's a smite on my copybook that I can't ever erase.
"Then at QPR, similar horrible moments, stuff you don't ever want to be involved in or on your CV.
"I don't want any more on mine in any capacity whether I'm a coach, a bus driver or a fan. I don't want it. I will do everything I possibly can to avoid that."
