Barry: Man City expected to beat Wigan

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry knows they are expected to beat Wigan Athletic today.

Barry accepts it is precisely the type of game City, having spent so much, will be expected to collect maximum points from.

"These are the games you need to win," said the England midfielder.

"It is another tough away game but after the disappointment at those results against Sunderland and Blackburn it is important we bounce back.

"Overall, things are starting to settle, as we showed against Salzburg, and the longer we spend together, the easier it will become.

"The manager said after Blackburn game that we now have a run of playing two matches a week before the next international break.

"If we can get a run together it will set us up nicely for the remainder of the season."
