Barrow boss Ian Evatt fears being blocked from promotion to the Football League.
The Bluebirds led the National League by four points with nine matches remaining when the coronavirus pandemic forced football to shut down last month.
Now the National League has advised clubs to vote in favour of ending the regular season without playing the remaining fixtures.
"There's proper anxiety with everything that's going on, it's not helping people in Barrow," Evatt told the Daily Mail.
"For it to go down to a vote and not go our way, it would be devastating for our fans, our town and our club and I'm not sure how it would recover.
"They lost a lot of faith in everything when we were voted out of the league and that bitter taste has been there all along."
