St Mirren defender David Barron is back in negotiations with the club despite rejecting an earlier offer of a contract extension. Boss Danny Lennon told the Buddies' website: "We have opened talks again with David Barron.
"We have had a chat and he is now away to think about things. I'm glad that David has came in to talk with us and hopefully we can get something sorted."
After he rejected the offer of a two-year extension, Lennon suggested earlier this week that the 22 year old was not being advised properly.
"We're disappointed with the decision," he said. "I'm not going to say that I respect it, but I might if I believed that the decision was coming from the player.
"To be perfectly honest, I don't think David has had the best advice.
"The club couldn't have done any more - and I'm not saying that the deal is over - but I feel that the player has been ill-advised."
