Championship outfit Barnsley are hoping to sign Stoke City midfielder Michael Tonge on loan.
The 28-year old has made less than 15 appearances for the Potters since arriving from Sheffield United in 2008 and is believed to be available on loan.
Tykes boss Keith Hill, who sees his side sit 14th on the tier two table, is keen to bring in some quality at Oakwell and wants Tonge on loan for the rest of the campaign.
