Barnsley boss silent on Villa's Sorensen

Barnsley have been linked with a loan move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.

Simon Davey is looking for cover after losing Heinz Muller to injury, while loan signing Tony Warner will also be cup-tied for next weekend's FA Cup clash against Liverpool.

Sorensen is now third-choice at Villa behind Scott Carson and Stuart Taylor, and has confirmed his intention to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Davey has refused to be drawn on whether he is interested in Sorensen, but admits he is casting his eye over all the available options.

"We are speaking to people and to clubs and will have someone in for next weekend," Davey said in the Yorkshire Post.

"I have seen the rumours about Thomas Sorensen but I am not going to confirm or deny anything.

"We are looking at a lot of keepers and will see everybody who is available."
