Newly promoted Bari have named Gian Piero Ventura as new coach following the sudden departure of Antonio Conte.
President Vincenzo Matarrese claimed Conte and had expressed incompatible views to him regarding the future.
"We didn't understand each other, he wanted to hurry things. We couldn't go ahead together," said the Galletti patron.
The former Juve man has a completely different opinion.
"I wanted to approach Serie A with my ideas. The Board knew what it meant working with me and accepting my project," said the Coach.
"Once the trust ceased to exist I decided it was better to quit. They no longer agreed in the project which we had negotiated only three weeks ago.
"At the beginning of this month I agreed to sign a ludicrous contract but at the same time I had reassurance regarding my plans.
"I asked for ten players to strengthen the squad including Edgar Alvarez and Filippo Carobbio. Having to face a difficult campaign as a Coach I have to think precisely about what to do.
"Anyway, I would like to thank the club, sporting director Giorgio Perinetti, the fans and the city of Bari. This team deserves an ambitious project, I will always follow it and I wish them all the best fortune."
