Barcelona vice-president Mestre questions why CAS treated Real Madrid differently

Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre is unimpressed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling differently for Real Madrid on their transfer ban.

Barca don't see the logic in Madrid being granted the precautionary measures appealed for following the sanction issued by FIFA, which means the minors affected by the above sanction may now play for their respective clubs.

"We also asked for that. The difference is that our young kids were not allowed to play, whereas Madrid's are," Mestre told Sport.

Mestre considers it "unfair" and says it's an "enormous insult" pointing out that Barcelona were forced to take the youngsters our of La Masia, thus "contravening FIFA's own standards, which are to protect children."

But he added: "For the record, we still feel the penalty given to Real and Atletico is unfair and disproportionate, as was ours. What annoys me is the treatment from a certain section of the press, how we were treated and how those affected now are being treated."
