Barcelona veteran Ivan Rakitic played down the jeers of fans towards president Josep Maria Bartomeu before victory over Eibar.

Bartomeu is facing a backlash over the club's online PR scandal.

Rakitic was asked about the whistles and the protests from the fans after a turbulent week and said that the players didn't get the sense that the frustration was directed at them.

"People have the right to express what they want," the midfielder said.

"We felt their support.

"It's important for us that they support us and they did."
