Barcelona are set to encourage Samuel Umtiti to find himself a new club in January.

Sport says both Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman and the club's recruitment department are clear that Umtiti will not get chances at the club this season.

The defender was reluctant to leave in the summer and forced a meeting with the president, Joan Laporta, in which it was agreed he would get one last opportunity.

That opportunity appears to have passed and the club are pushing for him to leave in January whatever happens or they could take drastic measures.

Barça want to save as much as possible on his wages as he does not feature in their plans at all.
