Manchester City youngster Eric Garcia is likely to leave on a free transfer next summer.

The Citizens were hoping to agree a fee for Garcia with Barcelona for a transfer this window.

But it appears the centre-back has confirmed he will let his contract expire next summer.

Then he will move to his dream club on a free transfer.

Speaking on his future, Garcia told reporters: "It is true I have told the club I do not intend to extend my contract beyond 2021.

"But I will return to Manchester when I am finished on international duty with Spain, and I am focused on next season with City."
