Barcelona have tabled a new contract offer to Sergi Roberto.

Sport says the new offer is still one which fits the club's new economic reality. Roberto is currently recovering from hamstring surgery.

Negotiations had broken down in December but were reactivated thanks to Xavi who wants Sergi Roberto to stay.

“He's a fundamental player and I told that to the club," said Xavi a couple of months ago.

His deal ends in June, which he signed back in January 2018, with a 500m euro release clause.

He made his debut for the team back in November 2010 at 18 years old and played 316 times total. He's been in the first team squad since the 2013-14 season.
