Barcelona striker Suarez: With more money Rodgers would've won Liverpool title

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez believes he would've won the Premier League title with extra investment.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers made a similar claim last week.

Suarez was a driving force in the team under Rodgers in 2013/14 that had previously been nearest to ending a title drought that stretches back to 1990.

The Uruguayan scored 31 goals to claim the Golden Boot only for Liverpool to be pipped by two points, again by City, with the striker then moving to current club Barcelona a few months later.

"We were close to winning the league at Liverpool with young players," said Suarez, speaking to ESPN.

"We almost managed it without the budget they have today. Given everything Liverpool are now, to have won it then would have had more merit."
