Barcelona sports chief Eric Abidal is adamant Arturo Vidal has plenty to offer coach Ernesto Valverde.
The Chile midfielder has battled to make an impression since his arrival from Bayern Munich.
Abidal told Mundo Deportivo: "He has more experience.
"With the departure of Paulinho, we were looking for a player of his profile, endowed with character and experience.
"The goal of the club is to win the Copa del Rey, the championship and the Champions League, and that's why he joined us. He cost €19m and €3m in bonuses."
