Barcelona release Miralem Pjanic from Miami camp

Barcelona have released Miralem Pjanic from their Miami training base.

Sport says Pjanic will temporarily leave the team's training camp in the United States and return to Nice to be with his wife Josepha for the birth of their second child.

The Bosnia international is in Miami with Barça in the tour of the United States, with Xavi and the team management deciding that he would travel with the squad.

If the player does not find a new club to transfer to and if they can afford his high tab (about 8 million euros), the Barça coach is willing to give him a new opportunity as part of the first team squad, as a replacement for Sergio Busquets in the defensive ranks.

Pjanic has applied and received permission from Barça to return to Europe, although the team is set to play their first preparation match against Inter Miami in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Spain.
