French pundit Frederic Hermel has taken a swipe at Ousmane Dembele after his latest controversy at Barcelona.

The France attacker was dropped for the defeat to Real Betis on Sunday and upset management by failing to appear at the stadium on time.

Hermel told RMC: "Disappointed to be on the bench? But if he is on the bench, it is because he does not make the effort in training. So it's a vicious circle. And if that's it, it's a sign of total immaturity.

"He is at Barça! And this is not his first season, it's his second season, that's what worries me.

"And what he understands is only when you play in the best World Championship and in one of the most important clubs, the questioning is daily. Nothing is ever won unless you're (Lionel) Messi. And as far as I know, Ousmane is not yet Messi."
