Barcelona are in Real Madrid's corner over their demands that Cristiano Ronaldo not play for Portugal this week. Ronaldo is carrying an ankle injury and Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz refuses to rule out playing him against Bosnia in their World Cup playoff.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola said: "If he is injured, he needs time to recover. There is mistrust between the clubs and national teams: it seems that nobody trusts anyone and everyone should take a step back to end these conflicts."
Joan Laporta, the Barca president, also said: "If he has to travel to his country to prove his injury, of course he will be annoyed he cannot play."
