Barcelona are ready to make an approach THIS WEEK to AC Milan for defender Thiago Silva. Sport says the Brazil international is Barca's top summer transfer target and representatives will be in Milan this week in an attempt to open talks over a fee for the defender.
Barca know talks must begin from a jumping off point of €40 million to convince Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani to come to the table.
A player may be included to sweeten the deal, with Barca willing to part with Ibrahim Afellay as part of their offer. However, Galliani would prefer Thiago Alcantara be part of negotiations.
