Barcelona pricing Coutinho out of move back to England

Barcelona are pricing Philippe Coutinho out of a move back to England.

ESPN says Arsenal are following rivals Tottenham in declaring themselves unwilling to meet Barcelona's terms for signing Coutinho on loan.

Bayern Munich are unwilling to turn this season's loan into a permanent transfer for the Brazilian, who is thought to be available for around half of the £142million fee which was agreed with the Reds in January 2018.

With the summer transfer market set to be hugely affected by the ongoing coronavirus crisis, Barca are also willing to sanction another loan deal for Coutinho in order to get him off the books for a year.

However, any club who wants to take the attacker on board for the 2020/21 season would have to stump up a loan fee of around £10million and cough up all his £250,000 a week wages.

Those salary demands haven't been met with approval by Arsenal, who the report states have been offered the chance to sign Coutinho along with Tottenham and Manchester United.
