Barcelona president Joan Laporta is considering a new contract for coach Ronald Koeman.
Laporta, reports Ara via Voetbalzone, has acknowledged his public comments about the Dutchman towards the end of last season undermined the coach's position - which is something he regrets.
The appointment of Jordi Cruyff as technical director is being seen as a way for Laporta to mend bridges and strengthen the support around Koeman. The former Barca and Manchester United striker will take his place in the front office at Barca later this month. Jordi leaves his coaching position at Shenzen FC to take up the role.
However, the president is considering going further and weighing up whether to offer Koeman a new deal to 2024. His current contract runs to June 2022.
It represents a massive U-turn by Laporta, who had openly discussed sacking and replacing Koeman as Barca's campaign tailed off last season.
