Barcelona president Joan Laporta is in contact with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp about next season.
Laporta has decided to axe Ronald Koeman and appoint a replacement from outside the club this summer.
Favourite for the post is Al Sadd coach and former Barca captain Xavi, though there are doubts inside the board room about his management experience.
As such, reported Jota Jordi on El Chiringuito, Laporta is maintaining talks with Klopp about bringing him to Spain this summer. The new Barca president had made an initial approach when a candidate for January's club election.
Klopp has a deal to 2024 with the Reds, though there's a belief the club's owners, FSG, will not hold him to his contract should he seek to leave.
Along with the Liverpool manager, Laporta is also keeping tabs on the situation of departing Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick.
