Barcelona president Joan Laporta says he has the inside word on what Cristiano Ronaldo plans to do at Manchester United.

At today's signing presentation for Franck Kessie, Laporta confirmed meeting with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes this week in Barcelona.

"Yes, I had a dinner with Jorge Mendes. It's true," Laporta acknowledged.

"He came here about the market. Mateu (Alemany, sporting director) was expected to come, but he had other things to do. We talked about the market situation, but I'm not going to say if he offered me a player or not.

"It's always interesting to talk to him, he's a great agent."

Later he was asked again about Ronaldo and added: Cristiano? I'm not going to talk about the names of the players who came out of the meeting, but it's always interesting to know how certain names end up in the market.

"Don't make me talk about players. I won't. It doesn't contribute anything to Barca's interests. We have to respect players who have contracts with other teams."
