Spain midfielder Gavi is ready to sign a new contract with Barcelona.
Sport says after various meetings, comings and goings, pushes and pulls, Gavi will sign a new contract with Barcelona. The agreement between both sides is there and he will stay at the club until 2026.
However, it will not be done until he returns to training on July 11, given he has an extended break after playing in the Nations League with Spain.
The wage was one of the biggest issues, with the club considering him a future star but Gavi and his agent see him as already a key man at 17. He has become essential for Xavi and Luis Enrique.
Gavi will be on a slightly smaller deal than Ronald Araujo but Barcelona are committed to revising his salary in the near future. He will have a 1 billion euro release clause, like the Uruguayan, Fati, Ferran Torres and Pedri.
