Barcelona have plans to recall Emerson Aparecido from Real Betis 12 months early.

Barca and Betis effectively hold Emerson in co-ownership, with the defender on a two season loan in Seville.

The former Atletico Mineiro defender moved to Betis last summer and was due to stay until 2021.

But AS says Barca are now actively discussing internally about bringing in Emerson, who has drawn comparisons with Maicon, for the start of next season.

It's suggested Barca will make room for Emerson by selling Nelson Semedo.
