Barcelona are some ways away from signing Manchester City star Eric Garcia.
The young centre-back has made it clear he wants to go back to the Catalan club.
And Barca's sporting director, Ramon Planes, has confirmed the club want to sign their former academy player.
"It's true that we are looking for someone to help us in defence," said Ramon Planes to reporters.
"Eric Garcia is a great player, made in Barcelona, who loves the club, but whether or not he can join depends on the market.
"The club's idea is to build a young side alongside players who have given a lot to the club. Eric has that profile."
And the Daily Mail claims Barca will be able to fast-track a move for Garcia if they are able to sell Samuel Umtiti and Jean-Clair Todibo.
If not the Catalan giants will wait until next season and sign Garcia on a free transfer.
