Barcelona move for PSG defender Marquinhos

Barcelona have made a move for PSG defender Marquinhos.

Barca are in the market for a new centre-half ahead of the transfer window reopening. Their search has led to Sevilla defender Diego Carlos and RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano.

However, Le 10 Sport says long-standing interest in Marquinhos has also been revived.

While the Brazil international penned a new deal this season to 2024, the defender remains unhappy with the terms he's on. Indeed, delays over committing to a new contract were due to him and his minders testing the interest of rival clubs.

Barca were in contact in January, though talks eventually fizzled out ahead of Marquinhos signing his new contract.

But that interest is again being revived as Europe's biggest clubs reassess budgets and playing staff due to the coronavirus suspension.
