Barcelona midfielder Vidal fires warning at former club Bayern Munich

Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal is up for their Champions League quarterfinal against Bayern Munich.

The Chilean will go up against his former club when the two European heavyweights meet in the Champions League quarter-finals in Lisbon.

"[Friday] is the most important game of the season," Vidal said in his pre-match press conference.

"We're really hoping to go through.

"Bayern come into it off the back of a spectacular season - they're cup and Bundesliga champions.

"We know that it'll be difficult, but it'll be a great game.

"If we do what we have to do, we'll go through.

"It'll be a tight game."

Bayern figures, such as Lothar Matthaus, have hinted that the German side are strong favourites for the clash.

"I haven't paid much attention [to the comments] because I know the people at Bayern and what they say off the pitch isn't what the players think," Vidal added.

"They're confident but they should know that they won't be playing against a Bundesliga team [on Friday].

"They'll be playing against Barcelona."
