Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has called Andreas Pereira after crocking him in action against Valencia last week.

Marca says Roberto has been subject to a handful of criticism due to his thigh-high challenge that has left Pereira out of football action for approximately a month.

After the game on Thursday, Sergi Roberto wished a speedy recovery to the Brazilian on social networks, but the Blaugrana wanted to speak personally to the player and emphasise that his challenge was absolutely involuntary.

Despite having his apology accepted, the 25-year-old knows he will have a hostile reception in the second leg at the Estadio Mestalla.
