Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic admits he could've played for France.

Pjanic came through the system at Metz, where he made his first team debut.

He said, "I could have played for France when I joined Lyon but a few days earlier I said my dream was Bosnia.

"I know what my country has been through and seeing the fans so attached to the national team meant a lot to me.

"(Raymond) Domenech had called me, but I had already made up my mind. I thanked him, but I preferred to be realistic. For me, the French national team was too much at that moment and on the other hand it would have hurt my heart to watch one of them play for France in Bosnia."
