Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie has returned home to Ivory Coast to continue his injury recovery.

Kessie was ruled out until 2023 after suffering a thigh injury against Champions League opponents Vikoria Plzen a fortnight ago.

Sport says the midfielder has returned home to Abidjan, where he will continue his rehab.

Accompanying Kessie is his Spanish personal trainer, who will work with him daily.

Kessie will commit 3-4 hours a day to his rehab as he targets a return to action in January.
