Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has helped RKC Waalwijk enjoy a bumper financial result for the past year.

De Jong left RKC for Ajax as a junior before his sale to Barca in January to the tune of €75m.

And as part of the fee, RKC will receive a total of €5.7m, although only €1.7m has been received so far.

RKC closed the 2018/19 season with a net result of €3.142m.

For the fourth time in five years a profit was made, with the club declaring it is in "better than ever" shape.
