Barcelona midfielder Busquets: VAR penalty tipped El Clasico balance

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Busquets says Sergio Ramos' penalty was decisive in defeat to Real Madrid.

Although the referee of the game didn't initially award Real Madrid a penalty, the VAR encouraged the referee to check the incident and he subsequently pointed to the spot.

"[The game] was even, especially in the first half," Busquets noted. "In the second, we had two dangerous chances. We were comfortable, we had the ball and we found spaces.

"[The penalty] tipped the balance in their favour. They were more comfortable and hit on the counter after scoring.

"It's difficult because you see that there are many games and plays like [the penalty]. One against Real Betis comes to mind much clearly.

"They say that they have to be very, very clear plays in which everyone must agree, and I think today they punished us a lot."
