Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes has told Everton that he wants to join them permanently after a successful loan spell last season.
The Mirror reports the route is clear for the move now as Gomes has expressed that he will reject any approach from West Ham to cement his place at Goodison Park next season.
The midfielder has rejected an approach from West Ham, and with Tottenham declining to follow up on initial interest in the Portugal international, the Goodison Park club are looking to thrash out a deal with Barcelona.
Gomes still had made no decision on his future at the end of the season and left for a holiday with Blues boss Marco Silva admitting the midfielder would leave the club sweating as he made up his mind.
Spurs were thought to be at the head of the race, but they have now switched their priorities and have indicated to Barcelona they have no more interest.
