Barcelona marketing chief Juli Guiu has slammed LaLiga president Javier Tebas amid talk of re-signing Lionel Messi from PSG.

Tebas has stated Barca can sign Messi if they comply to LaLiga's Financial Fair Play demands, but the competition's authorities will not bend the rules for them.

Guiu said, "It would be good news, not with the figures that have been published, but it would be great news.

"He is still the number one footballer in the world, without a doubt. (Erling) Haaland does not have the pull that Messi has. It is evident that his return would be positive in the world of marketing, but that does not mean that he will return.

"Of course, and it would be very stupid if he (Tebas) didn't help us if this agreement ends up taking place."
