Barcelona management are delighted with the progress of young fullbacks Sergio Akieme and Alex Balde.

Both defenders are in line for first team promotion next season as Barca plan to shake-up their left-back options.

Barca chief Ramon Planes was in Germany this week to check on RB Leipzig fullback Angelino, on-loan from Manchester City.

However, Mundo Deportivo says Barca also could promote from within.

Akieme, 22, has shone with Barca B this season, while 17 year-old Balde is also making a name for himself this season. Balde has been likened to Alex Grimaldi by La Masia coaches.
