Arsenal have turned down an initial proposal from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.

Barca are desperate to find a buyer for Coutinho as they seek to balance their budget for the coming season.

Arsenal are keen, but not at the terms proposed by the Catalans.

Foot Mercato says Barca have offered Coutinho to Arsenal in exchange for Matteo Guendouzi plus €50m cash.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is keen to work with Coutinho, but Barca's valuation of Guendouzi plus €50m is deemed too steep. Negotiations are expected to continue this week.
